Anna Kim
Pilates Teacher
I wasn’t someone who naturally loved exercise growing up. In fact, movement often felt challenging, and I frequently experienced discomfort in my body. Looking back, I realize that much of it came from not fully understanding how my body was meant to move.
I first discovered Pilates through a recommendation from my instructor while I was taking private training sessions. To be honest, I wasn’t immediately interested. However, as I continued practicing, I realized that Pilates was much more than exercise. It gave me the opportunity to understand my body in a way I never had before.
As I studied and eventually became an instructor myself, many things began to make sense. I started to understand why certain movements had felt difficult, why my body had been uncomfortable, and how proper guidance could make such a significant difference. Because of these experiences, I can deeply relate to clients who feel frustrated, uncomfortable, or disconnected from their bodies.
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching clients gain a deeper understanding of their own bodies. I especially enjoy working with beginners and introducing them to the world of Pilates. Seeing someone discover new movement patterns, build confidence, and experience positive changes in their body is incredibly fulfilling.
In my sessions, I focus on helping clients move well, move often, and leave feeling refreshed. My hope is that every client walks out feeling a little lighter, a little stronger, and a little better than when they arrived.
I also believe that exercise should never feel intimidating. As someone who used to feel shy and uncomfortable in new environments, I understand how vulnerable it can be to start something new. My goal is to create a welcoming space where clients feel comfortable, supported, and heard. Rather than overwhelming clients with instruction, I strive to be a thoughtful guide and a good listener throughout their movement journey.
I am currently continuing my education with a special interest in prenatal and postnatal Pilates, and I am passionate about helping people move with greater comfort, confidence, and ease in everyday life.
